Go-getters Show Grit, Can-do Attitude on Episode 2 of Maltavator Challenge Season 2

It has been a super-exciting week as the 2nd episode of the energy-packed pan-African TV show, Maltavator Challenge, proudly sponsored by Africa’s Best Premium Malt drink, Malta Guinness, aired across television stations in Nigeria. In this season, 30 contestants from five countries are going head-to-head in a series of physical and mental challenges to discover who has the energy and vitality to take home the 20,000 USD grand prize and the Maltavator Challenge crown. Although the crown went to Ethiopia in the show’s first season, we are trusting that our Nigerian Maltavators will clinch the prize this time. In the second episode, 10 new contestants fuelled with Malta Guinness’ vitamin-B goodness tackled the Go-Getter challenges guided by the show’s hosts, Ehiz and Regina. Nigeria was represented by Oti Idaresit and Abdullahi Ibrahim who believe they are a strong challengers competition and are looking forward to taking on their peers. . The Maltavators started with the Power Up challenge after a quick demonstration from Ehiz. They ploughed through the course of inflatable pillars and tyre with high energy levels before climbing the wall to retrieve the Malta Guinness flag while aiming for the quickest finishing. . For the challenge, we saw a confident Abel from Ethiopia take on Abdullahi from Nigeria. Despite Abel’s attitude, it was Abdullahi who had the fastest time of the pair. He streaked ahead of Abel from the start and made it back down from the wall with the flag just as Abel reached the top. The final round for the Power Up challenge saw Oti from Nigeria against Ibrahim from Ghana. These two were closely matched, but Oti took the lead to collect his flag first and returned safely to the floor ahead of Ibrahim who nearly crashed into Regina in his speedy descent! The second challenge of the episode was the Sharp Shooter. It involved two contestants and one ball with the challenge of who would score the most goals on a small slippery pitch in two minutes. Oti from Nigeria and Ibrahim from Ghana were up first in what turned out to be another closely fought battle. Oti scored the first goal and Ibrahim probably scored the most impressive goal with a header from the floor. There was a lot of sliding around, but they finished with 8 goals from Ibrahim and 7 from Oti. Abel from Ethiopia and Abdullahi from Nigeria were next to compete. They both showed off great ice skating skills as they scored fantastic goals but it was Abdullahi that took the victory with 10 goals to Abel’s 5. The final challenge was a test of mental strength – The Vitamizer. The Maltavators had to find the five B-vitamins – B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6 found in Malta Guinness in a ball pit. As expected, there were some red herrings thrown in to confuse them. Oti from Nigeria and Ibrahim from Ghana got off to a flying start in this challenge. Ibrahim was the first to fill his bucket with B Vitamins, narrowly missing the right combination on his first attempt. Oti, on the other hand, proved he knew his Malta Guinness well by picking all the right B Vitamins on his first trial. Abel from Ethiopia and Abdullahi from Nigeria got off to a very speedy start as well. Abdullahi handed his bucket over first but was missing some of the B vitamins. Abel took his time, however, and got the combination right the first time. In this season, 30 contestants from five countries are going head-to-head in a series of physical and mental challenges to discover who has sufficient energy and vitality to take home the 20,000 USD grand prize and the Maltavator Challenge crown. The crown went to Ethiopia in the show’s 1st season; we are trusting that our Nigerian Maltavators will clinch the prize this time around. It was an all-round show of impressive performances. There are only 10 contestants left to take on the Go-Getter challenge before we know which Maltavators will be representing their countries in the next round.
